Grain Trade

The dry bulk trade: grain, pulses and the soft commodities that travel with them.

The grain division trades wheat, barley and rice, the flour and pasta milled from them, and the pulses and legumes that move on the same routes — sesame, beans and lentils.

Alongside the staples it handles the soft commodities that share the trade's storage and freight: tea, coffee, nuts and chocolate. Volume in this business is a function of warehousing and shipping as much as of price, which is why the division sits inside a group that owns its own tonnage.
